Do you show monetised videos?
Note: If you’re using Adzoola to find videos or channels to target with YouTube ads, it’s best practice to add any channel or video you think relevant – even if you knew they didn’t show ads right now.
Here’s why Adzoola doesn’t distinguish between videos that show ads and those that don’t:
More potential opportunities
In November 2020 YouTube made a change to their terms for YouTube creators:
“ads can now appear on videos from channels not in the YouTube Partner Program (YPP), and we will begin gradually placing ads on brand safe videos.”
This opens up a huge number of opportunities that you could miss out on if you try to exclude videos that apparently don’t show ads yet.
Unreliable
YouTube doesn’t provide this information and Adzoola is developed using data directly from YouTube. As YouTube doesn’t provide this data, we would have to scrape YouTube’s results and try to identify when an ad is shown. As such this would be unreliable, giving false positives or negatives. That means you could miss opportunities. With our current results you can see all the results. Then you add any you think are relevant for your YouTube ads campaign.
Ten Times Slower
If we tried to do what I described above, the results would be more than 10 times slower. It would take minutes just to go through even 20 – 50 videos. In Adzoola you can get hundreds of videos in seconds, so you don’t have to wait around.
Constantly changing landscape
YouTube channels can turn ads on and off any time they like. And they can even turn off ads on specific videos. What if you missed a highly relevant channel to target because one of their videos had ads turned off?
Also, lots of new channels get approved for showing ads all the time. Why miss out on channels who are just about to get approved to monetise their videos?
How are your video research tools better than manually searching YouTube?
– Use multiple keywords in your search. And we’ll clean up the results. That means de-duplicating videos appearing for multiple keywords so you can sort by those that rank for the most keywords.
– Filter the results (and it’s fast – they respond dynamically).
– Delete videos or channels in the list, one at a time or in bulk.
– Get statistics on the channel that has posted the videos (see the channels tab in Video Search)
– Quickly get the video urls (filtered, selected or all of them)
– Quickly get the video titles (you can edit these and use them as keywords)
– Get related videos based on a video url. This feature gives you the ability to tap into YouTube’s data about what videos are related to the video you enter. It’s really powerful to expand on a regular keyword search. Related videos get 70%+ of the watch time on YouTube.
And all the above is just referring to the Video Search tool. There is also Channel Explorer to look into Channels more deeply or get videos from channels. Again you can filter these easily.
There is also a whole keyword search suite to get suggested keywords, long tail keywords, discover ones you may not have thought of (7 different ways to get keywords).
How is Keyword Search different/better than Google Keyword Planner?
1. Google Keyword Planner does not give you YouTube-specific keywords.
2. While GKP shows keyword suggestions for a domain/page, we can show the actual keywords the domain/page ranks for, what position and even the title and description of the page in the SERP.
3. You can get the keywords a domain/page is paying to advertise on in Google Search. GKP doesn’t.
4. You can find keywords from over 3,000 categories which helps you find the most popular, competitive or expensive keywords in a specific category.
5. In GKP you can’t easily do subsequent searches to build your keyword list fast. You can with Adzoola in ‘Research mode’ or by using ‘Research this keyword’ button.
6. The filters are a little bit more cumbersome in GKP. Adzoola’s are dynamic, so they change as you change them.
Can I use non-English languages?
In my testing, unlike with Google, YouTube is much less oriented to country results. That’s to say, you’d get similar results in different countries with the same search in the same language.
So to get videos in your language, search in that language.
